Condition Guide
Surplus is real military gear, and the exact conditions may vary. When
needed, we grade surplus to give options so you can choose what is best for
your use and budget. Military gear was built well and used by soldiers proving
its quality. We hope you find that it serves you well.
Grade 1: Very good condition with only minor signs of use and no repairs or
holes. These are harder to find.
Grade 2: What we call normal surplus. The gear is fully usable and shows signs
of use but has a lot of life left. It may have some repairs, stains, and or
writing.
Grade 3: This gear can still be used but had a rougher life. They show
heavier stains, have more repairs than normal or for example may still have a
small tear, a missing buckle, or frame sheet in a backpack for example but
fully usable as is. This is great as extra gear or as a budget item. Also see
our #3 Turn-In Gear section under Surplus for more options.
