Lightweight and Thin!  Made with Kevlar and designed for concealable (worn under clothing with compatible carrier) bullet proof vests and Body Armor. These panels are surplus and are 100% serviceable and ready for duty. These Panels come from government contractors (DOD, State Dept., Etc.) and private security companies. These companies spared no expense when purchasing body armor and bought the most expensive, and state-of-the-art equipment at that time (especially when the government reimbursed them for 100% of all security expenses). These panels have been ?retired? due to the warranty expiration
usually after 5 years). These panels are 100% made in the USA.
These panels have had all sensitive and classified information (Contractor name, Company logo, government contract number, employee name, employee SSN#, and employee blood type) physically removed with a box cutter from the panel
see photos). Unfortunately, the Model, Model number, Date of manufacture, and size information had also been removed in the process.
This is a great opportunity to get reliable, American made, personal protection for a great price!

It also provides protection against most handgun threats, as well as the threats mentioned in [Types I, IIA, and II].
The NIJ tests all vests without the trauma plates (soft armor only). A trauma plate will absorb more of the blunt trauma impact than soft armor.
It is important to note that Level II-A, II and III-A all stop the overwhelming majority of pistol projectiles you are ever likely to encounter
plus 12 gauge, OO buckshot), and also to know that NO armor is ever 100%
bulletproof? under ALL conceivable circumstances.
However, these ratings often have a safety margin for penetration because blunt trauma is usually the limiting factor in certification. For example, Level II body armor would likely stop the III-A test standard, (9 mm submachine gun at 1400 fps) from actually PENETRATING through the Level II vest. But, the Level II vest would fail on blunt trauma impact (the NIJ deems any dent greater than ~1.7" (~44 mm.) on the soft clay test surface, a FAIL).
So, the advantage in increasing protection Levels from II-A, to II, to III-A, is NOT so much protection from PENETRATION of pistol fire, but a significant reduction in the blunt trauma received.
The Department of defense (Military body armor has no expiration date) and the National Institute of Justice Research have concluded that Kevlar  performance is not affected by age or physical condition.

The vest was removed from packaging, warranty card mailed out, and placed in storage (may have storage marks) until the warranty expired. Unworn (Issued to someone who had a desk job) very few signs of use or wear. Like new, may have minor cosmetic stains. Minor cuts on gortex cover from having classified information removed with a box cutter (see photo)

Moderately worn (Employee only wore vest when going on patrol or outside the wire), with some signs of use or wear. Might have markings (name) on panels. May have some cosmetic wear with fading, tears, stains, tape residue, scratches, and minor abrasions. Minor cuts on gortex cover from having classified information removed with a box cutter (see photo)
Fair:  Conditioned (worn)
Heavily worn (Employee wore vest every waking moment in a desert environment) heavily worn with obvious signs of use and wear. Cosmetic wear on the outer shell with fading, tears, markings (name), sweat stains, embedded dirt, and curling (bunching of Kevlar at the bottom of the panel).
